Rolou na quarta-feira, 7 de outubro a primeira eliminatória do único campeonato de DJs de Hip-Hop do Brasil: Hip-Hop DJ 2009 (HHDJ) .
As eliminatórias serão realizadas nos dias 07, 14, 21 e 28 de outubro das 19h às 21h e a final dia 8 de novembro 2009 das 17h às 20h.O campeonato, criado por Xis e DJ Kl Jay, acontece desde 1997 (algumas edições foram televisionados pela MTV), já revelou DJs que hoje são reconhecidos nacional e mundialmente. A edição 2009 é organizada pelas "Crews de DJs": Clã Leste, Clã Sul e Symphonyca DJs.
Com o apoios dos governos estadual e municipal, através de suas secretarias de cultura e assessorias (Assessoria para o Hip-Hop e Assessoria de Cultura para Gêneros e Etnias) foi possível abrigar o campeonato na Galeria Olido próximo ao metrô São Bento e as outras grandes galerias, locais históricos para a história do hip-hop em São Paulo e no Brasil devido as suas tradicionais lojas de discos e os encontros lendários de B-Boys. Nelson Triunfo percursor do Break Dance no Brasil foi conferir o que as novas gerações de DJs andam aprontando para o futuro.Dj Bidu fez uma apresentação impecável e levou o 1º lugar nesta fase eliminatória. O segundo lugar ficou com Dj Rogê e o terceiro com a DJ Simone.
